Henry I "Beauclerc", King of England - George Washington's 18-21st Great-Grandfather
Henry I "Beauclerc", King of England, was the son of William "the Conqueror." He was George Washington's 18-21st great-grandfather through several lines of descent. He married Matilda Atheling, Princess of Scotland, daughter of Malcolm III "Caenmore", King of Scotland and Margaret Atheling. As a result, George Washington is also descended from the kings of Scotland including Duncan I, the father of Malcolm III. Meanwhile, Margaret Atheling was the daughter of Edward Atheling "the Exile", son of Edmund II "Ironsides", Anglo-Saxon King of England. Edward Atheling married Agatha of Hungary, daughter of St. Stephen, King of Hungary. As a result, George Washington is also descended from these individuals and their ancestors.
