He was also the ancestor of U.S. Presidents Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, Herbert Hoover, Woodrow Wilson, John Quincy Adams, Zachary Taylor, John Tyler, and Jimmy Carter. Edward II was the son of Edward I "Longshanks", King of England and a descendant of William "the Conqueror" and Charlemagne. He married Isabella, the daughter of King Phillipe IV of France and Joan, Queen of Navarre.
