GENEALOGY AND ANCESTRY OF GROVER CLEVELAND, 24TH PRESIDENT

Grover Cleveland was the only President to be elected to two non-consecutive terms. He also was the only President to be married in the White House and was the first President to have a child born in the White House. He dedicated the Statue of Liberty on October 28, 1886. Grover Cleveland was born on March 18, 1837 in Caldwell, New Jersey. His parents were Reverend Richard Falley Cleveland and Anne Neal. On his father's side, Grover Cleveland's ancestry can be traced back to Charlemagne and William 'the Conqueror." On his mother's side, Cleveland is descended from Abner Neal, a prosperous Irish merchant.
